The hostel is very near the soccer stadium in the center of the town. You can walk to the stadium in about 15 minutes from the train/bus station.
I recommend you walk and just
ask people where the town center is, then where the stadium is.
You will probably find most people are very happy to help you and
you will see how friendly Montenegran people are.
Once you get neat the stadium you will see the gas station.
(There is only one near the stadium.) From there, go to the
sidewalk which goes around the stadium and follow it to your
right. In less than a minute you will come to the end of the
stadium. When you reach this point you just need to keep walking
straight for about 25 steps and on your right you will see a
yellow building with opening into a courtyard. Enter the
courtyard and the hostel is the second door on the right, Number
60
If you have any problems, ask someone where the old church St. George is. Everyone knows this landmark. The hostel is very close to the church, between it and the soccer stadium.

By Taxi
A taxi from the bus/train station should cost you about 1.5 Euros. Normally drivers use the meter. If they don't it is probably a bad sign and they will probably try to over charge you. Please note that most taxi drivers don't seem to know the name of the street the hostel is on (so I have taken if off the top of the page here) or they know of another street with the same name on the other side of town. I'd say it's probably better to tell them the "pumpa" near Buduchnost football stadium in the center of town. "Pumpa" means gas station. Or tell them St. George Church. By the way, driving around the soccer stadium to get to the church takes a little extra time and money so if you want to save, have them drop you off at the gas station and walk the last two minutes.
St George Church in Serbian is "Crkva Svetog Djordja". Crkva sounds like Serkva... good luck with the rest of it! But they will probably know the English name.)
If you really want to know the street address it is 19th of December, Number 60.
Here is a video with directions from the bus/train station.
Here is another video which shows you a view of the hostel from the back of the soccer stadium. Most people make it to the stadium with no problems, but sometimes people walk too far and go past the hostel. This video shows how close the hostel is to the back of the stadium.

Steve |
| This is a small, quiet hostel in
the center of the capital of Montenegro. The owner,
Steve, is a traveler from the United States who has been
staying in hostels for over 20 years. He is also a writer
and encourages other writers to come stay for a while. He
is also looking for volunteers to help him with his teen
suicide prevention program
or his ideas on how to change the world. -- Here is a note from Steve: 1. Montenegro is an amazingly beautiful and diverse country. 2. The people here are very friendly. 3. There was no hostel in the
capital of the country! Opening a hostel has been something
I have thought about many times. I have also helped run
hostels in other cities. Now it is my chance to have my
own hostel and help fellow travelers discover this
interesting country and the warm people. Soon I will be adding more pictures and videos of Podgorca and Montenegro. |
